The recent guilty plea by Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) has brought national attention to the practice of "cruising" for sex in public places, but this is not a new phenomenon.

Cruising, the practice of men meeting and having anonymous sex in bathrooms or other public places, continues at USC in bathrooms in Bovard Auditorium and Taper Hall of Humanities, according to a facilities management employee, evidence in the restrooms and websites dedicated to cruising.

?Six bicycle thefts have been reported on campus since the start of the 2008-2009 school year. The suspect, who had been at large for some time, was recently apprehended outside the back gates of campus. The suspect is currently in custody.

"Once school started we noticed that we had some bicycle thefts," said Christina Alvarez, captain of Public Safety.

We find it disconcerting that the newspaper of a school that dedicates itself to social justice included an advertisement for a company like Wal-Mart.
